<Update:> When I left work, I tried again with no luck. When I got home and turned off the car, i took another look and it was no longer greyed out and I was able to check it it started to work. Last edited by Bruce24; 09-04-2012 at 07:25 PM.. |

Well, after the transit truck finally got out of its stall in Ohio, I took delivery of the car today...Sheesh, and here I thought I'd be getting it last Friday..
I'll post some pix in a day or two..

You guys are killing me! I was told "about a month" for my new x3, and with only one week down I have read all there is to read and am out of diversions. ...hoping for a pleasant surprise on production...
Question for those of you who just took delivery: what make/model (18") tires did it come with? Roads will get slippery up here... Frank |

I am far from a run-flat tire admirer but I will admit they have gotten better over time. IMO the ride on the x3 would be improved without run flats. These are a bit hard at times, but not consistently over-harsh if that makes sense. I need more seat time in various weather conditions to formulate a more final opinion. http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/ca...turato_p7.html Did you order from Motorwerks or Minnetonka? I'm debating whether to get snows this year or not..Usually it's not even debatable imo, but based on last years winter, I thinking of giving it a try with these "eco friendly" All Seasons...

Being a skier, i'm hoping for a 'real' winter. The Pirelli should be drivable when new, if that is what I get as well. I was curious to get a line on the tread specs - 500 A A. I imagine DSC will need to be turned off whenever it is slick. But i've managed with similar tires and 2WD, so 'bring it'!
...ordered from Minnetonka, FWIW. [Three more weeks seems like an eternity!] |

Worked with a different guy but knowledgable and competent...
I ordered a dog barrier from TravAll - it came from the UK in only 3 days! Very nice quality - all metal so it can't get chewed-up. ...wish the car itself could appear as well. |

Since our dealership is the same, how long did your X3 take from the 'finishing touches' tracking designation to delivery? My order advanced to 'finishing touches' on last Friday. I'm SO antsy! Frank |

Can't say with certainty Frank..The transit truck that took my car to the dealer from Carolina crapped-out in Ohio and it stalled my delivery 5 days with the labor day holiday..

how do you guys get the car so fast? I ordered the car three days ago and the my SA tells me that I won't have my slot till the 43rd week which is in NOV.... is that even possible? am I missing something? or is my SA not doing his job? Is there anything I can do? |

What your SA is possibly not telling you is that they (the dealer) don't have an allocated build slot available in the near term. You could check with other dealers in your area to see if they might have an earlier slot available, buy you will have to negotiate all over again.

I have been checking the 800 number and for the past week it states " you vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date" what does this mean exactly, somewhat of an oxymoron, or maybe is a direct translation from German. Any ideas how long it takes to go from this stage to actually get a production date or week?
Thanks |

Maybe a week or so. The web-site and 800# don't always agree and could lag reality. Mine now says 'released to transport' on the phone.
