Next generation X3 body shell spied

Autospies caught these glimpses of a covered new generation BMW X3 shell while attending an event at BMW's Spartanburg facilities for the X5/X6 M models. It makes sense to see the new X3's shell at Spartanburg since production is being shifted to the South Carolina plant from Magna Steyr in Austria (which until now has been the outsourced factory responsible for assembling the X3). Word is that the new X3 will debut in 2010 at the NAIAS.

As far as I'm concerned this is a really good sign of how soon the car will be arriving in the N/A market.

Very excited!

New Design X3

Auto week has a note this week that the X1 availability in the US is being set for MY2011 to allow the X3 to be released in MY 2010. Their guess was for an announcement at the Detroit show this Jan. I am going to wait for the twin turbo with the ZF tranny, for obvious reasons.
