2008 X3 Rear view mirror interchangeable

Looking for the X3 mirror with the integrated garage door opener.
Is it a simple remove and replace or is there a module that needs to be installed to get it to work? My mirror does not have the garage door buttons.

If you have the Electrochromatic mirror it's a straight swap; if not there is no power available.
