Radio / Nav presets

I noticed that when I touch the preset buttons I can see what station is preset for that button. There are other times when I touch the same button, it doesn't show me the radio station but a Nav preset address that my dealer created. I do not know what I had touched previously to make one or the other show.
How can I create presets for Radio and Nav addresses whereby the same button is good for both.

I don't think you can. You get 8 presets to allocate across radio, nav, telephone. That's 8 in total not 8 per function.

Will happily stand corrected if I'm wrong though

You can't. One function per button, EXCEPT that each profile can have different ones. All thoroughly explained in the manual.

What do you mean by each profile? I still do not understand how preset button #1 had a radio station and my home address at the same time. As I said earlier, I do not know what I might have done before hand that when I pressed #1, the radio station played. Another time, I pressed #1 again, my home address showed.

But can you get the radio station to show up again? I expect that you won't be able to. Sounds to me like you may have re-programmed the button to your home address, replacing the radio station that had been stored there before. These buttons can be programmed to almost any setting in iDrive by holding for a long press when the setting is displayed.

Are you certain you were using the same key both times and that the same profile was active? As noted above, if you changed profiles (by using the other key, for example) the settings of those buttons will be whatever was set under that profile. Check the profile section in the manual to see how these are created and switched.

There are no "banks" for these buttons to the best of my knowledge. One item per button.

If you "hover" your finger over the 1 -8 buttons it shows what function/station it is a assigned to.

You are probably alternating which key you use. Each key is a different profile, and therefore has different radio presets, etc. To keep from driving yourself crazy, always use the same key, and keep the other in a drawer somewhere.

Ah! Okay. In the morning, it's my wife's key as she is driving me to the bus stop. Other times, it' s my key which the dealer probably had made the first preset my home.

Thanks

I had no idea the presets changed based on which key was used. That is so freaking cool!

That way she won't know you've programmed the Playboy station as a XM preset.
