Hi there

I have the most basic SE spec skinny steerig wheel on my UK Spec 2012 F25 2Ld Xdrive SE.

What are my options upgrading to either a Msport wheel or getting a new style wheel as per the below YouTube video? Looking at the install it looks very simple

-Disconnect the battery
-Pop out the airbag
-Disconnect the plugs
-Unscrew the main center bolt
-Remove, line up the new steering wheel and plug the new airbag in.

Has anyone done this? Im concerned about (a) any coding needed and (b) the safety of getting a used steering wheel from ebay with the airbag attached, like the ebay link below.

Watching with interest, i have the skinny SE wheel on mine and would prefer something more chunky myself.

One thing to watch with used steering wheels is if the airbag has gone off it damages the wheel inside where airbag connects, i have had this with my previous BMW 1series when airbag was deployed in a shunt, i bought a new airbag and it was loose in the wheel so i had to get another one from non-accident damaged car, i think on some you can replace the frame that airbag clips into but i just changed the wheel.

Another option is to send your wheel to a trimmer like Royal steering wheels get it retrimmed and beefed up.
