Question 2015 X3 bluetooth problem

I have a 2015 X3, every time I turn off the vehicle it turns off my Bluetooth pared phone. I have done the update and reinstalled the phone three times. but nothing helps.

Curious. After you pair the device, your phone should be asking you to confirm a passkey number or some other confirmation message. Twice in fact, if I'm not mistaken.

If you don't respond to "Always Allow" or something along those lines, the device will not stay paired.

The phone is paired, I can make calls thru the idrive no problem. But when I turn off the ignition and lock the doors the phone turns off.

Do you mean the power of your phone got turned off or the Bluetooth on the phone got turn off?

What type of phone do you have? Have you ever try to pair it with other phone or tablet and see if the connection stays?

If your phone is actually getting turned off that would be rather odd. So you're saying that you actually need to press the power button on your phone and wait for it to boot up after locking your doors? Or might it just be the screen going to sleep?

If your phone is truly turning completely off then I would suspect that your phone is misbehaving when it loses its bluetooth connection. However if that were the case then you phone would shut down as soon as you turn off any bluetooth device it was connected to (headset, speaker, etc.).

The phone turns right off, and I have to use the power button on the phone to turn it back on.

Sounds like a problem with the phone rather than the car. For one, I haven't yet seen a bluetooth function for shutting down the host device. Secondly, when the car is shut off you are likely to just lose the bluetooth connection--I doubt that the car is sending any bluetooth command right before shutting down.

If you think it really is the car, one thing you could try is updating to the latest BMW ConnectedDrive version to see if that fixes it:

what phone have you got?
Sounds more like a phone issue, a setting which is shutting down the phone when it loses bluetooth connectivity.
Can see anything that the Car could do to shut down the phone.
