X3 tow bar
Hi all,
I just had my local BMW dealer quote me $3057.59 AUD for a tow bar, not the retractable one either, but one I need to remove myself when I am not using it!! Has anyone else in Australia had one fitted by BMW and if so what sort was it? Seems very expensive for an essentially standard tow bar..... |

It is an expensive Aftermarket option, I did see a factory fitted retractable electric one fitted and was very impressed (we as impressed as you can be by a tow hitch!)

Try towbarsperth.com.au in Ozzie Park. They are quoting $1k to supply and fit a Hayman Reese. I think the price would have to be confirmed. I'll be looking to have one fitted to mine in the not too distant future. So would be interested to hear how you go.

Thanks ozbmwx3, I will check them out.
Does anyone know if the after market (BMW fitted) tow bar require any cutting of the bumper? If anyone had some photos they could post, that would be great. |

Separate but related. The cover for where the tow bar extrudes is missing on my 2006. And I am told I can only get a new one, with the tow bar kit. Seems very Irish to me but..
Anyway, I can't find a cover in Auckland. |
