Toolkit and first aid kit?
I wanted to adjust my wiper blades today, but found out that my toolkit only has a screwdriver and the tow eye. I ask because my 325 had about 5 tools in its toolkit and I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Also, my car is missing the first aid kit which should be in the same compartment as the toolkit.
I'm not that impressed with the QC coming out of Spartanburg! My car was delivered with a broken power steering (not their fault since it presumably drove onto the truck fine), missing it's X3 badge on the back, windshield wipers that hit the paint on the A-pillar, and now a missing first aid kit. These are just minor annoyances, but I had zero issues with my 325.

Not many problems here except for some faulty passenger airbag issue, idk if it's common, it could just be a sensor problem but definitely something I need to work with them on Monday.
It's strange not receiving a 1st aid kit in the car nowadays since I've remembered getting one since the 90s in a Lexus but I don't think you're the only one. I also only received a screwdriver and a tow hook in the kit mentioned so perhaps it's standard? For the most part I haven't had any serious problems (yet) but I feel for you. The SC plant honest needs to work on QC, I'm not sure how they can roll out a car without having even the back X3 label on. |

As above the first aid kit is hidden in the back in a side panel. I think in the EU you have to have this in the car, although I agree the toolkit is kinda small, but you can purchase from BMW (Of course) 2 versions of the kit if you wanted it. I guess they assume most people will have something already (just not in the car) and they want to keep their costs down.
As far as no badges.. its an option, if you don't select it, then you get the badges, always been that way as far as I can remember |

Sorry for your problems. Just another thing to worry about while I wait for mine.

odd, my car has NO toolkit at all, as well as no first aid kit. I am thinking that the first aid kit does not apply to NA cars, even though the manual mentions both without indicating * for exceptions.

US BMW's haven't come with complete tool kits or first aid kits for YEARS.
edit: I hope my car comes without all those tacky badges, that'd save me a lot of time removing them. |

I would have debadged ours if it had been an option. Get rid of the X3 badges and the 35i badges also. It's just clutter. Time to get out the hairdryer and dental floss.

Just be grateful your car wasn't built in Britain! Cars like the current Mini and anything made by Land Rover Range Rover fall apart if you even look at them.

In truth neither Bentley nor RR were that we'll built. You always spent a lot of time at the dealer getting things fixed. Considered to be part of the "privilage" of ownership...

The Nat Geo programme on the new UK Rolls Royce factory is very enjoyable. Especially impressed by quality control- at the end of build they put each car on a platform that shakes the hell out of it and they sit in it listening for, then resolving, the slightest noise or rattle. I am such a rattle nut that this alone makes me want one! Maybe when I hit middle age
