How about you get the lower spec n20 and tune it to the 248bhp mark, definitely cheaper that way.

Good guess, German base price for the X3 xDrive 20i is EUR 37,600 and thus below the xDrive 20d (39,600).

Best regards,
south

Best regards,

2000 euros can get you 2 nice specs on ur car and i am pretty sure the 20i will be less noisy than the 20d for similar performance except torque and mpg, think its a home run for expensive markets with high tax rates.

That's what I'm talking about. When I saw the 313 hp first, I thought update to the N55. Then I saw it was the diesel and was floored. That's going to be a beast with all that torque and horsepower.

Same here. In the meantime need to buy something used to bridge from the end of my current lease. Or maybe just something else instead of a BMW.

I guess this would be worthwhile saving up for.

no diesel in many of the BMW models is starting to piss me off. I love the X5 diesel but can't imagine how awesome a X3 with an 8 speed transmission and 35d diesel would be - NO that is not right, I am livid because I know how amazing it would be and we in the states have no access to them. we are still getting the X5 35d with 6 speed tranny when the X5 40d with 8 speed transmission has been in production for almost a year - RIDICULOUS!!!!

Fail. They pay congress so they won't have to pay the government their fair share. When oil costs more, they just raise their prices by a higher margin and take windfall profits. Nice deal if you can get it.

And I don't think they care about diesel vs. gasoline--they make billions off that, too.

I gather the Euro emissions standards are getting closer to EPA/CARB, so it should be easier to bring the engines over here. Hope we see a 35d next year.

VW just brought their diesel to the states. I don't see why BMW can't. Ridiculous.

I am interested in a 2wd version but I guess it will never come true on the X3; I hate to go down in size to the x1.
