I'm not complaining about the prices... just posted 'em for negotiations.

Delivery to Canada is $2000
Special order (factory order) is $400

Around $64K on the road for the 35i with M-sport, DDC, Navigation

I've never really understood why people would do this on a public forum... Prices are what people are willing to pay for them (within reason). If someone is willing to pay $40,000 on a Fully loaded $64k X3 then either the salesperson hasn't done their job to show why a X3 is better than a CRV or the client is too damn cheap and should probably wait 'til some used F25's hit the market.

Personally, this practice is just bad practice... How would you feel that if someone posted on a public forum your cost of all your materials and your labour rates on a public what ever you do to make a living website? It would cost you some profit and potentially business for you.

Profit is not such a bad word...a deal is made to what the consumer is willing to pay and the seller is willing to sell it for...

fiddy yen,
Don't assume I'm against any dealership making profit.

I'm sorry if you think people should just shut up and pay msrp. The fact is the dealer charges $400 to place an order, then they charge the pdi, then they expect $5000 for the pleasure of selling the car... really?? bmw charges $2000 to deliver the car to Canada

sorry... I think a couple grand is reasonable profit for the dealer considering the buyer payes for everything else. 2 G's should cover the commission of the sales guy and any of the management who have their hands out.

The reason why most of us can buy a bimmer is because we can manage money.

Most of us that buy bimmers know how to manage money correct. But most people that buy Bimmers also are aware that people can negotiate prices. Furthermore most people that can buy bimmers make a fair bit of money by working or managing something and generating an income through profit... catch my drift?

Like any business, it's set up to make a profit. That $5000 markup doesn't include any other fixed or variable costs to operating a dealership. Regardless of what type of business it is... I don't think its fair to disclose this information to a public place... unless its your business.

Why would you have a problem posting this info. I have no idea what any of these things cost, except for what BMW tells me. That is the definition of disparity of information. When one party has all the information, it makes for an inefficient and unfair marketplace. Information is the driver of capitalism. I see these things as evening the marketplace. I have no problem with someone knowing my costs of the services I provide. If you want to keep people in the dark it usually means you don't want to negotiate a fair price.
