Well, after you read the cars VCM's, just tell me the I-Step current for each one, and I will tell you what the minimum PSdZData is needed for them.

Does anyone know if it is possible to code for the BMW trailer hitch? I have looked in the forums and online and haven't been able to find any info.

I have coded my f25 in the past and just had a service done where my daten files will not work. After doing extensive research, it looks as though i need 51.3 and a new version of e-sys. can anyone confirm this and/or send me to the right place where i can download?

I can connect via the vin and can read the ECU, but i can not edit FDL and get an error (which after doing research) signifies my daten files need updating. thank you all very much

Shawn, my wife has decided to trade her 2011 F10 on a 2014 F32 (435i), What software will I need to code this vehicle? I will assume the current cable that I got from April 1 will work. Build date on the new vehicle is 3/10/2014.

You need the latest 52.2 PSdZData and E-Sys >= 3.23.4.

I need this info as well...

Thanks again Shawn!
Just got the wife's '13 X3 coded back again after a service. It's great to have it back to how it should've been from the beginning.

Thanks again to Shawn and all the trouble shooting from Eli!

Cheers

Last January I downloaded PSdZData Lite Ver 51.3 and E-Sys ver 3.24.3 but then got distracted by other things and did nothing else.

Please help with three questions:

1-Are both these sets of files still valid?

2-What is a recommended reliable and trusted source to buy a cable?

3-What is a source to buy the required token?

I am only going to recode only two parameters; TPM to show pressure & temp & the digital MPH display. If there was someone experienced convenient in central NY I would probably just ask them to help but there does not appear to be so I am going to do it myself.

So long as your car has <= 51.3 on it, yes, they are still valid.

PM sent for cable and Token solution options.

Coding Blind Spot

My 2015 X3 28i is a week old. Super super. But the Blind Spot monitor is set up to work only after the turn signal is pressed. Set up for imbeciles.

HOWEVER once in Stop and Go Adaptive Cruise mode (new in '15 in the X3 a fantastic application everyone should get) the Blind Spot Indicator works as it should, i.e., whenever a vehicle enters the blind spot area it lights. No turn signal activation needed.

QUERY. Is there a Code change that will bypass the turn signal requirement when not in Cruise Control mode. In other words making active blind spot monitoring the default.

Thanks.

It has been my understanding it is best the engine is running so battery capacity is not challenged. The instructions at the beginning of this thread state:

Connect E-Sys to your Car:
1.Connect ENET cable between car's OBD port and network port of laptop.
2.Switch on the ignition of the car, don't start the engine.
3.You will notice laptop tries to connect ....

So, when is it OK to start the engine?

Those are very old Instructions.

Start motor, connect cable to car and then laptop, wait until laptop gets IP Address, and then launch E-Sys.

True Speed Indication

I was surprised when I noticed the speedometer reading exactly matched a handheld GPS reading. That made me think the speedometer uses the GPS for speed input. Is this indeed so or just coincidence?

I was just doing some Google searches for a parameter to extend or eliminate the rear window heater time to off delay when I stumbled into the following two items available on the one series.

True speed in digital speedometer KOMBI BC_DIGITAL_V_KORREKTUR nicht_aktiv = true speed
True speed in analog speedometer KOMBI BC_V_KORRECTUR nicht_aktiv = true speed

Does anyone know if these parameters exist on the F25?

I am waiting for my cable to arrive so I can activate the TPM pressure/temps and digital speed indication. It would be nice if both the digital and analog speedometer read the accurate speed from the GPS.
