recommended spacer size for x4 m40i

I think was thinking either

12mm front 18mm rear
12mm front 20mm rear
15mm front 20mm rear
15mm front 18mm rear

What do you think will look best on my m40, i have the 20" w/ michelin pss if that helps

Very subjective. I have the same setup (20" Michelins) and will most likely go up a tire size or two when the original rubber has worn out. And, yes, we need spacers to accommodate wider tires on these rims. I think I would go with the same size of spacers all around, say, 18mm.

Would love to see some pictures of what you end up with.

Thanks a lot for the input, i will probably go with a larger tire size as well so having the spacers already will be nice--will look into 18mm all around, sounds like not a bad idea. Anyone out there have pics?

I was wondering what aspect of the current 20" wheel and Michelin Super Sport is failing you to need more tire?

I drove an x5 with 315's in the rear. These look like they could use a little more meat to me in my opinion. I like the "hefty" look I had on my x5, rather than the raised suv look.

Just wondering what you went with and if you have pictures? I have a X4 M40i on order and will be swapping for a winter wheel set as soon as it arrives and want to put spacers on at that time.

Tire Size Calculator

For those of you thinking about spacers and up-sizing your tires, check out: https://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp to calculate effect of oversized tires. Cheers-

I've got 12mm up front and 17mm at the back on each side of my X3. You can find some pics here: http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showth...1059161&page=2 You'll also find a picture of a stock x3 next to my x3 with spacers.... There is a world of difference:-)

I would not not really suggest the 20mm in combination with the 20x10 wheels, as the stance will be really wide and the rear wheels will stick out more than the front 8.5" wheels . I have 17mm with 9.5" wide wheels, and that looks just right. So with the 10" wide wheels, the 18mm spacers will be enough.

Maybe one thing to keep in mind: The wider the rear stance is compared to the front, the harder the steering will become.
