replacement part fitted now a question about the fault codes

Ok guys, 55 plate x3 3.0 diesel m57n2 the fault code I had was 'P2620 Throttle position , output signal - open circuit'
quick bit of research shows its the throttle body.
so I have replaced the throttle body, question is will I need to get the fault code removed or will the ecu clear it itself when it sees the replacement part

Best to get the codes cleared.

You can get a handheld BMW specific code reader on Ebay for around £30, this will read and clear codes.
