Dinan Sorted - Finally!
I had a Dinan installed from new on my X3 3.5 and it has been FUBAR from day one, randomly throwing a drive-train malfunction error and reducing the overall performance. And this happened every time i drove the vehicle.
Just back from the second visit to the local dealership, who did not do the original install and with Dinan tech support being involved they sorted the issue in about a day and a half. Turns out the installing dealer flashed the Dinan ECU with the wrong file, instead of the electronic waste-gate, they had it configured for the mechanically controlled version. Drove 45 minutes from the dealership to home and all clear no more errors and what an amazing drive. Glad I installed the Dinan and really love the X3, way more fun than the X5d I just came out of. What a pleasure to drive. Last edited by JoeU; 08-19-2015 at 04:24 PM.. |

I had a Dinan Stage 1 install back in June on my 235 and got a drivetrain message the next day (P1284 Switching Solenoid for Air Assisted Injection Valves Bank 1 Control Circuit Signal Low). Turned out to be nothing (adaptation of the ECU & Tune). Dealer & Dinan were great in how they managed it.
All is well now, haven't seen the message since and it's been over 2k KMS.
