Rear Bumper Guard Options

Hello! I just ordered a 2015 X3 xDrive35i M-Sport and have question for the forum. We have a 35lb dog who frequently travels with her in the hatch and who would make quick work of the paint on the top of the rear bumper when jumping in/out of the X3. I've begun looking at some paint protection options and figured I'd solicit feedback from forum. The X3 will be leased, so I'm looking for something that will provide reasonably comprehensive protection but be relatively simple to remove before lease turn-in. Thanks in advance for any advice!

At the moment, this model (pictured below) from Rear Bumper Guard (RPG) is in the lead. In addition to being an edge to edge solution, it also provides some edge protection (something absent in other options). Does anyone have experience with this model or RPG in general?

Next on the list at $167.99 is an offering from AC Schnitzer via Turner Motorsports. It's a hard film and while it does provide edge to edge protection, it does not have a rear lip (like the RPG model). Any thoughts?

Next is an offering from Zeta via Amazon, it's an OEM-like (back when BMW sold bumper guards) option. It's thicker plastic, mounts with 3M tape and has ridges that will aid in traction (for my dog). While it does seem like a better option for folks who looking to protect from load/unload damage (given the lack of coverage), it is reasonably priced at $49.99 and could be paired with the next option for more complete protection (and an OEM-look).

Lastly- I've considered simply running a strip of Xpel over the area. I've had great results with Xpel in the past (it's durable, self-healing and cost effective). That said, it's not really designed for this use. So I might consider pairing it with the Zeta option above.

I just ordered the RPG rearguard for our 2015 X3 28d (took delivery on Wednesday ) primarily because of the edge protection it provides. If you decide on that option, you may want to place your order now. New German Performance is out of stock on the X3 rearguard and is expecting to ship again in 8-10 weeks. I wish I'd ordered the rearguard when I ordered the X3 rather than waiting until I took delivery.

Not sure if you considered:
BMW Protective Loading Edge Trunk Mat

Looks more rugged than the stock one provided.

That would work (and I may pick it up in addition to one of the items above) ... if I could convince my dog that it is not for chewing

I installed this to my X3 about a week ago. I bought the protector (carbon fiber vinyl) from ebay and it cost ~$20 with the shipping.

I bought the Zeta guard and I'm happy with it, however if I had known about the RPG one that wraps around the edge I would have bought that one. I installed the Zeta guard as close to the edge as possible to provide some edge protection.

Zeta guard looks really cheap... not good in premium vehicle.

Can you tell me the ebay seller, looks nice. How is the quality and how did you install it so cleanly?

Seller is listed on my previous post. Quality is really good for the price. I applied the vinyl by using the wet method.

I have a German Shepherd Puppy (1yr old, 30kgs), and we just put a blanket in the boot with an overlap over the sill and bumper when she jumps in and out - not a problem! and she is very excitable!
