Not DeTuned
[QUOTE=FSociety;19575097]Yep I would agree now, because this engine is the same one found in the "M2" without the over boost function of course and a bit detuned.
The engine in the M2 and X4M40i are the same N55B30T0. |

Hey DrKevM5 - what brand spacers did you purchase for this and how are they holding up? Any photos from directly in the front/rear?

H&Rs. They're holding up beautifully. I'll try to get pics if my wife can ever keep it clean.

I was going to suggest that after seeing your friends video of your whip. Slightly stiffer ride, much improved cornering, MUCH improved stance. Don't forget the spacers!

Hi DrKevM5, where did you get your H&R springs for our M40i?
All I can find is for X3 or X4 28i and 35i.

Same here, did you use the 15mm spacers in the front and 12mm in the rear?
The ride is so much harsher/stiffer now LOL but i guess thats in a exchange to a nicer height and less wheel gap.

I did. But tell me it doesn't look SOOOO sexy now! It's not that much harsher, is it? Maybe it doesn't seem that much harsher to me because I'm comparing it to my M2.

Looks awesome! Now you need spacers! Or are they on? How do you like the ride?

DrKevM5 you've done any oil changes yourself?
Do you by any chance have a Service Record of what oil BMW used in your M2 vs your X4 ? 0w-30, 0w-40, 5w-30, 5w-40 ? Noticing ever since my last oil change (confirmed they used 0w-30) oil runs hotter 235-240F now (tested last night that was cool) but it seems maybe they did it cuz 0w-30 is better for (Cold starts) than 5w-30 (what bmw normally uses if i remember on N55). I'm thinking of buying 0w-40 or 5w-40 LiquiMoly to do my own change once spring hits. (0w-30 is fine for stock cars but its too thin IMO for tuned cars) I feel 0w-40 would do much better at operating temp Thx
