First to mod M40i?

So I had my 1200 mile service after returning from Performance Center delivery (a must do after European delivery), and while it was there I had them tweak her a little. H&R springs, 10mm. spacers front, 15mm. spacers rear, BMW Performance grilles and rear spoiler, hardwiring for Valentine V1. She still has to settle a little, but a tiny bit stiffer ride. I love it! Also this thing is FAST!!!!!! Performance tuned AWD produces incredible traction on launch. I was able to be a good boy all the way back from delivery, varying RPMs and never going over 5k. But now it's like "Release the Kraken"! I'm trying to convince the wifey to drive the M5 now...

Before it's asked, I'm waiting two weeks to settle before aligning to factory specs.

Ahh we get 1,200 mile service ? or you did your own ?

I couldn't help it but I hit Redline first drive out the dealership LOL, and have hit Redline about 2-3x after that but been trying to vary the rpms and even switching to manual mode in order to do so sometimes, so far have 300 miles in less than week.

Terry asked me to send a photo of TMAP and MAP sensor but haven't had a chance and I prob don't know where to find it on this engine lol compared to my N20. Maybe you can send it to him and help me out haha. Timberwolf is the JB4 guy i think

My service guide says that the 2000km service (which is about 1200 miles) is only for the M5 and M6.

Did you see it written anywhere that they do this for the M40i?
Maybe they just did it as a favour for you?

I'm assuming it's part of the maintenance service plan that comes with US vehicles

Yep I would agree now, because this engine is the same one found in the "M2" without the over boost function of course and a bit detuned.

So from SC to Western NY how many miles total now?

Had a few detours. 1440 total miles for delivery.

Doc the car looks awesome! Is your M5 at Pocono in your signature pic? Have you been to Slipstream or Mpact?

I used to have an M5. Ran it the year before last at Slipstream.

Is the M40i that much fun that you're willing to have the wife drive the M5??!! Can't wait till Burger makes a tune/dowpipes with some E85!

That pic is at Mosport outside of Toronto. This car is so much fun! Very tossable, even with the AWD. Very quick. I wish it came in 6mt, but the auto tranny is programmed nice, especially in sport plus. Launch control is pretty awesome with NO wheel spin. AWD just GOES. If the next M5 comes with AWD, it's going to be incredible. The exhaust in Sport Plus mode is a riot. Huge exhaust farts. My M5 feels huge after driving this thing.

If the JB4 or Dinan looks good, I just may. It's a true sleeper.

Dark Graphite for the MTFW! Slow clap - nice tasteful mods as well.

Just wondering if that is factory tint on your m40i? I was not wanting to tint very dark, and it seems there is a slight tint to the rear and back sides. If that is factory, then I might just consider tinting the front windows to those, just to match and have a slight bit of tint all around. Thanks.

Mine are tinted as well.
They come like that from the factory.

The rears looks very very light i would say prob are 40-50% tint
I wish it came 35% at least like my X3 did, looks like I'll have to tint the rears to either 20-30% all around (except the front or rear windshield)

No 1200 mile complimentary oil change

My CA told me "no 1200 mile oil change for the X4 M40i." He further elaborated that the M-series gets this partly because part of that service is to enable launch control. Launch control is (supposedly) activated on our cars right out of the box.

I'm planning on doing a 1200 mile oil change myself. But it would be interesting to learn whether anyone has gotten this for free at the dealership. Anyone?
