Michelin Pilot Super Sport replacement.

Michelin is about to replace the PSS with PS4S, claiming that all characteristics: braking, handling (dry and wet) as well as life is improved.

Performance relative e.g. Continental Sport Contact 6 (STD on some BMW M vehicles), is marginal, but Michelin claims - referring to independent test institute - that life is about 50% better.

Sales start in January in EU and March in the US- pending Trump approval.

Cant wait to see TireRack review it

Also waiting on their A/S 3+ review since the A/S 3 (didn't beat Conti DWS nor DWS06 nor Pirelli in Snow/Wet)

Perhaps we can get a good deal on current inventory of MPSS. They are great tires.

Copy & paste from another thread..

If you read all the Reputable Independent European 2016 Tyre tests, Continental SportContact 6 outperforms MPSS in all area, including wet performance.

Furthermore, the BMW * (star) MPPS has worse wet handling than the non-star Generic MPSS. Thus one can not assume the BMW * MPSS or future models will perform as well as the generic's test results. The MPSS * are formulated of a slightly harder compound than the generic to give it longer life at the expense of handling.

New M3/M4s are arriving in USA with SC6 instead of MPSS over the past ~60 days - and most tests cars on the Nurburgring have switched to the SC6.

And you are taking a flyer assuming the MPS4 will beat it - especially considering the reputable tests comparing the two will probably not be published for 9-12 months.

At least for 2016-2017, SC6 is king.
