Sport Activity Package or Leather Seats on 28i??

I got in the last spot in my dealers current allotment which should be going into production next week. I have only a few days at this point to make any changes and i've been wondering about adding Chestnut Leather seats and taking away the Sport Activity Package. This is what my car currently looks like:

xDrive 28i
Jet Black
Black Leatherette
Sport Activity Package with xLine
Xenon Headlights
Panoramic Sunroof

Would it worth sacrificing whats in the SAP for Leather seats? Any other changes I could make before the order goes in next week?

I would (and did) skip leather. The sport seats are so much nicer than the stock seats. Sport package is a must for enthusiastic driving.

is the exterior of the car (SAP) really worth sacrificing the inside (leather seats) where you spend more time?

I mean for the steering wheel and sports seats which are inside the car...perhaps. I'm not sure how much better the leather is compared to the leatherette. The SAP does chrome the car out and give me bigger wheels but those chestnut seats are nice too. It's a hard call.

Agree.
It's a personal choice that reflects your personality.
Form (leather seats) or Function (Sport Package)
Of course, my opinion may be a little biased since my other car doesn't even have doors or a radio!

Getting either the sport package or chestnut leather ultimately comes down to what you want. IMO I think the sport package is a better deal as it comes with more stuff for only $100 more. In terms of looks and comfort the package is going to be better with the X-line exterior and upgraded seats, the leather seats are really only just a color change. I guess one could argue that the leather's more comfy than the leatherette but I doubt most people will notice unless they drive around without clothes, in which case the leather might feel softer and suppler on your naked body.

My knuckles may hit the ground from time to time, but I didn't realize that the car I test drove had leatherette -- was completely convinced it was leather. Now, I didn't spend hours in the car, and I ordered leather when I bought mine, but it wasn't because I saw the leatherette and felt like I was sitting on a vinyl bag or something. If budget demanded, I could see ditching the leather for the sport package easy. It's all about what makes the drive for you. If it's knowing the buttocks are on leather, get that. If it's about the way the car moves with the sporty details, there you go. Whatever you do, don't give a rat's behind about what anyone else thinks (including me, though I tend to think I'm really, really right about most things . . .). It's your $50k and your car. Do what makes you happy.

Totally agree. I really want my X3 to look individual and different and as well....I'd love the sports seats and a thicker steering wheel....I'm gonna keep black leatherette and enjoy my SAP. I personally think most general consumers will opt NOT to have the SAP so they might be more uncommon and less frequent that the X3's without SAP.
