BMW X3 2014 F25 28i- Engine almost stalls out in cold

Hello Everyone

So, I just picked up my (new to me ) 2014 bMW X3 28i last month.
and this is my first BMW ever so fair to say that i am by all means a newbie here.

but anyway this past weekend i decided to take my X3 up to the mountains for the first time for a weekend trip.

Although since we stayed up on the mountain all weekend where the temperature dropped below freezing most of the night.

I noticed that when i turned on my X3 initially it seemed like the engine was about to stall out before recovering.

This occurred both Saturday and Sunday morning.

So, my question is if i should be concerned or not ? Should I contact the dealership since my car is still under warranty ? or is this normal under cold conditions

Thanks in advance

How many miles are on the car?

An initial rough idle is expected but your car may have stored some codes. Considering you're still under warranty, I'd recommend taking it to the dealer.

I have 45000 miles on it

What do you mean it stored codes?

Do you mean that now that my car has been in those conditions it will remember how to correctively composate so that won't happen under those same conditions ?

The engine control computer may store codes indicating operational problems which later during service may be used to help diagnose the problem.

Take it to the dealership to sort out. That's the point of having the warranty. Keep in mind, if service mechanic can't replicate what your saying is the problem, dealership won't fix it.

I purchased the BMW Platinum Extended Warranty to succeed my factory warranty. My TPS sensor is on the fritz, every 10 miles or so it says TPS malfunction. I know the part is the sensor under the rear right tire, but why am I going to pay $275 for the part, when I spent over $4k for the extended warranty? I called BMW NA, they said it's up to the dealership to determine of the replacement of the sensor is warranted or not. Ludicrous.

In theory, whether or not the TPS sensor malfunction can be replicated by the technician it should be recorded in the system's memory so when they check the logs it should show up as a valid problem.

So basically I'm getting screwed. Thank you for the input though. Perhaps I shall inquire the repair at another dealership.

$51 at TireRack, and $15 to local mechanic to replace it.

I think your confusing the individual wheel sensor with the actual TPS module unit, which is what I need to have replaced. Wow it actually went up in price now, it was $275 before, now its $293.

PS - I have actually removed the module and used electronic cleaner to clean it in hopes that it would work, but it was all in vain. I don't need to pay $15 for a mechanic to lay on his back go under the car and unplug the module in 2 minutes. lol
