Summer tires

I am planning to purchase 4 Bridgestone Portenza S-04 Pole position245/45/19 non run flat tires to replace existing run flats.

Does anyone have some experience with the Portenza S-04 tires.

Where are you looking to get those in Ottawa? I had the Hankook Ventus V12's but they only lasted 2 seasons, mind you I have the 20" staggered set up so don't know if that makes a difference or not so this summer I purchased the Conti ExtremeContact DWS on sale at Canadian Tire of all places.

I am enjoying my Pirelli P Zero Runflats. Heard the best summer tires are the Michelin Super Sports. Heard good things about Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position.

Tire craft in Ottawa have quoted $972 for 4, S-04Pole position tires, installed, balanced and tax. This seems very good to me.

While the Michelin sport is also a good tire, I don't think its worth the extra cost.

I have them in staggerred 20" fitment and love them. Currently in 2nd season of use (~20,000 miles) and looking good to get a 3rd season out of the rears and fronts are basically still new.

Grippy but more quiet and comfortable than the RFT tires we had previously. Most would compare them with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport which is what I run on the 335.

That does seem pretty good...I say go for it.

Off topic here but which dealer do you use for service, Elite or Otto's? I've heard terrible things about Otto's so we always use Elite.

Since I purchased my X3 in the US, I go to a US dealer in Rochester NY while on a shopping trip. Great service plus a loaner.
With the cdn dollar at such a low value compared to US it is difficult to get a price advantage now however, if the cdn $ gets comes up to 90cents US, back to the US for my next purchase.

I replaced the Pirelli P Zero Runflats (after 5000 Km) with Michelin Sport Contact 5 245/50 R18 100 Y.

A great upgrade in drive comfort and handling !
