It's such an easy habit to develop. I have no problem with it and only rarely do I forget, but then I am quickly reminded . I'd rather leave it as is, rather than program the last remembered setting, in case I want to use it, in which case I do nothing.

If you had to wait the 2 minutes at every light around Atlanta, you'd really save some fuel. Sometimes I shut off the engine in my Corolla to save on gas.

I don't mind it that much, but when my 35i kicks back on, it's a little harsh sometimes.

I was unaware that you can have it programmed to remember the last state - I will definately do that.

Having a Honda Insight as my daily commuter has helped me adjust to any cars that have start/stop.

I actually find the start/stop system to be better in the BMW, as I like hearing the engine rumble when it starts up and the A/C here in Arizona surprising stays pretty cool when the engine is off... the Insight it gets HOT and blows hot while stopped.

I have gotten used to the ASS. Although if it really is annoying me on any particular day, I just throw it into sport. I find it particularly great in conjunction with "auto hold" when stuck in traffic, I don't feel as bad abou just sitting there (I'm not an ecomentalist by any stretch). Although I get wanting to have it disabled, my mom is a nervous driver so we got it disabled on her car mpg suffered a bit, nothing extraordinary. It comes down to what you want to do with your car.

Not sure why people keep saying disable, it is not disable, it just remembers the last state, you can still turn it on.
