NAV upgrade you can do by ordering a thumb drive with new maps to upload, or if you have even minimal computer skills you can download files to a thumb drive yourself for less money. I have a source for files a lot of us use and update mine for about $55 or so maybe every 2 years.
Not that this is a good time to raise this, but are you aware of the timing chain issues with the N20, particularly the 2013 models? All the threads will say the issue goes through early 2015, but every single report of a failed chain I have seen was a 2013. Anyway, you can search and read if you want. Not really. The plastic guides for the chain just break, and the bits almost always ruin the engine. You can have it replaced in advance, but it's not cheap. There was a class action suit, but I think the settlement only requires BMW to pay up to 10 years from the in-service date, which most 2013s are just about to pass, and it only pays if the chain actually fails. It doesn't happen to every car, so at this point you might as well just drive it, or get an estimate to have a new chain and guides installed.

I recently had my timing chain replaced preventatively on my 2014 N20 at 95k miles. Cost was $1500 labor, $560 parts usd. Mechanic found bits of tc guide so not a great sign. I also recommend aluminum charge pipe as the stock plastic one is known to be a problem.

N20 timing chain/ guides- if I recall correctly some inspection can be done by the mechanic to assess the condition, chain tension and visual of the plastic guides to some degree without any disassembly. Worth checking with a Dealer or Independent mechanic shop about that- might be able to head off a potentially expensive failure/repair bill.
Lots of info about this motor and this specific issue on the 3-Series F30 forum as that motor widely used in those cars. |

I assume you got the code as well as the map files? Where did you get them? The map updates I have done were a little over 30GB, so I'm surprised yours is only 20GB. Yes, it is worth updating 9 year old maps. Lot's of new roads in that time, plus new restaurants, gas stations, etc. Yes, your car has enough storage to hold the map file. Why else would they make the file? I don't know the total storage space, but it will also hold quite a few CDs if you have some you want to load. I always use the arm rest usb to upload new maps. You may or may not also have one in your glove box.
Maybe your 2013 is not the NBT system, and is still CIC, which might explain smaller map files. |

And by the way, I see from your screen picture that somebody got aggressive cleaning the screen and scratched the anti-glare coating. Be very careful with that as the coating is very delicate. Blow any dust off first, then use light pressure and a soft cotton cloth. I don't use any cleaner because they smear and make you rub even more. I just dip the cloth in distilled water.
