2011 BMW X3 Price in Alberta, too much?

Firstly thanks for a lot of great info. Awesome forum.

I am very close to buying a X3 but am still deciding between 2011 and 2012.
I requested a quote from the closest dealership and was given the following for 2011 model and was told it would be comparable for 2012.

Please provide me with your insightful opinions on price point as well as where I could negotiate.

This is in Canadian Dollars.

Some things to think about:

- Cdn dealers do not give the large discounts that US dealers do.
- If the dealer is not giving a good break on the 2011, why would you get a 2011 when the 2012s are just about here? No matter how you slice it, the 2011 is one year older at resale time.
- you are in AB, but not sure where - Calgary has 2 dealers, Edm has 2 (?). I would contact all of them for a quote.
- there is a website called something like "Car Cost Canada" you should access. Sorry, don't have exact name, but you can find it, I'm sure.
- don't forget to factor in winter tires (and wheels) to your budgeted price.

Thanks for your replies. I live in southern alberta and will definately try to get a quote from all of the dealership even the ones in Edmonton (5 hrs). The question I have is, does 67k sound like good price for X3???

It appears to me that the $67k is all-in; that is, all PDI and applicable Alberta taxes included. That being the case, you are basically paying full MRSP. Cdn dealers are less inclined to discount than US dealers are, but you may do better than that, depending on how much work you want to invest.

Join Car Cost Canada, and use their services. I would shop around, you have 4 dealers within 5 hours of you.

You don't even need CCC because I can share with you what I found...the markup is about 8-9%...

We ordered a 2012 X3 28i last week. The price we negotiate was on the 2011 list price we are waiting a call from the sales rep when 2012 price list is available to finalize pricing. I was able to get a bit over 4% off the 2011 MSRP.

Haven't ordered my X3 yet, but on all of the other BMW's my family has purchased from the dealer in Winnipeg we've gotten around 10% off msrp. Also, they're the only dealer in MB. I would never pay MSRP for a new vehicle unless it was a special edition that i just had to have.
