I recently purchased a 2017 X3 xDrive 28i, equipped with the Harmon Kardon sound system, but lacks the factory installed navigation. After talking to the dealer, I was told it is impossible to add CarPlay after the fact. Really miss the CarPlay integration with my previous car., as well as the larger 11" screen. Is it possible install a pre-owned screen and head unit from another 2017 X3 which had the factory installed navigation to gain a larger screen, navigation and CarPlay functionality or is it more complicated than that?

I looked into doing that on my 13 x3 and found it was cheaper to install an aftermarket system. I am in the process of upgrading my 6" to a 12.3" android system with car play . I will post a pic when it's in. won't be till next week going to be down for a few days
