Rear glass sitting flush?

Hey guys,

I've got a one week old x4... Question for others who own one.

Does your rear glass sit flush against the rest of the exterior when boot is closed?

My glass sits flush on passenger side but protrudes higher on the drivers side.

This doesn't seem right. It should be the same on both sides?

Any help/advice would be great.

Tony

Ok, so I think I may have detected a manufacturing fault here.

Underneath the glass, the seal is not correct. And it is causing the glass to protrude.

This, in turn, has caused the glass to crack! I think under the pressure when it closes the boot.

I called the dealer and the other x4 on their lot has the same problem but on the other side of the glass!

Taking back to the dealer to get a fix. Due to the cracked glass, I guess they will need to replace the whole thing. What a pain.

Nice work bmw. Quality control? Anyone?

Anyone else got this problem?

I'll look at the glass tomorrow and post. I haven't noticed anything. I did have a "drive train" malfunction warming come on. My delaer did a complete check of the car and found a loose hose that was causing the malfunction.
Hopefully my glass is ok. Thanks for the heads up. Will post you back after looking at it in the daylight..

Checked out the glass and it seems ok. Good luck with yours.

Boutan,

Any update? Did it end well? Was it a construction fault?
