Finally got my 20d msport auto

After a long wait, finally picked up mind today and its the first time I see a Msport in real
First impression:
Much better looking than in photos
Interior is high quality, even the lower part is acceptable IMO
Very happy with with the ride
18\" wheel looks fine and not too small as others mentioned in forum and it helps with the ride
Handling is good
Very comfortable and spacious inside
Very smooth gear box
Engine a bit noisy compared to some other car with similar engine, BMW should really make it a bit more quiet
Generally happy with the car as it looks classy and drives well

Congrats AC. I look forward to seeing an M Sport in the flesh because I know the SE looks much better than in photos and therefore I'm sure the M Sport will too. Enjoy!

What do you think about the stiffness of the Sport suspension?

Its not as firm as I thought and actually quite comfortable.

I think the standard ones are too soft and floaty.

I am very happy with sport suspension as the standard ones will caused travel sickness for the passengers if driven enthusiastically.

Well done, enjoy! Good to hear re the 18" rims and the suspension. I originally spec'd M Spt Susp Del but recently got the dealer to put it back on.

Great news on the sports suspension. The std one I found was ok but I felt that when I got to know the car better I would want something stiffer. I've been hoping it wouldn't wreck the ride. My build is next week.....supposedly - could even be this week, it depends on how the weeks are numbered.

I agree AC888! I'am also afraid of travel sickness. So I had ordered the Spt Susp.
Now I'am a little bit relaxed about too much stiffness.
In addition, I'am glad to read about the look of the 18" wheels! :-)))
I can't wait to see all of them in real!

I kept sport sus on my Msport order, std 18" wheels too. I didn't want to go too low profile with RFTs......not after running an E93 with low profiles with RFTs for 3 years!

3m protection film for front bumper

I am planning to add a 3m film to the front bumper as I always drive on the Motorway and A road.

The Msport has quite a large painted area in the front and this will looks really bad after a few miles with stone chips.

Anyone have done this on their cars? please advise on whether its a good decision?

Thanks!

1. Click reply/quote then Go Advanced then click Manage Attachments button and you can add up to 10 and click upload.

2. Or, if you have something like flickr or gmail, publish the photos there first, right click on the published photo and choose Copy image URL, then click insert image (advanced reply) and paste.

If you use method 2 you have more flexibility and no limit on number of images (size of attachments)

Congrats, I also have the 18" wheels and love them. The ride not too soft like other SUVs, sport mode is great. Glad to hear that overall you are happy with your new X3.

Just goes to show that those saying 19 inch wheels are needed for the Msport are not necessarily correct, 18 or 19, the difference is not that great....all a matter of opinion of course.
