Google Maps Send Function
Hi all,
I'm due to pick up my new X3 on Friday I'm looking at trying to send directions to the car from google maps. I'm accessing google maps on an iPad using Safari but have also tried Chrome. When I click the link icon it only has the option to email not send. Anyone know why this is the case and how I enable the send function? |

On my PC with IE or Chrome, I click destination "marker/pin" -> More -> Send -> Car -> BMW -> enter access info. Have not tried iPad but would think it is similar. Maybe someone else with an iPad could comment.
Side issue for me: I see destination in Nav "Messages" and can start guidance but cannot find a way to "save" destination e.g. as a favorite.

Yes that works using 'classic view' on the iPad. All the information online suggests it should be in the link icon but your method works fine. Many thanks.
Anyone found a way to do it from mobile view on an iPad? Tapping the destination icon doesn't seem to work in mobile view. |

Yeah, that's another choice. I got that app installed on my Android but haven't tried that feature yet.

I assume your iPad has 3G/4G? Otherwise the app is kind of useless.

Touch the red pin for your destination, then the blue and white arrow icon, then Send to Vehicle. Really intuitive isn't it, LOL? Google Local Search is actually the most useful feature of the app.
