Also truecar.com has pre-negotiated pricing that's relatively competitive if you want a hassle free experience

I actually contacted a dealer a couple months back via truecar.com and they would not accept the $500 over Invoice that they had advertised on the site. Pretty shady!!

Looking back I probably should have. Not even for my personal gains but to help others avoid a similar situation further down the road.

I had several feelers out to various dealers and ended up getting a decent deal so I kinda put it behind us and moved on.

Went in to pick up the car on Saturday and was able to get another $200 off invoice for a total of $1000 over invoice and $1935 under MSRP. Still not as good as others, but it makes me feel a little bit better.

How did you manage that? Takes a bit of guts to ask after you agreed on the deal but nice job.

I just asked. It's funny that you mentioned that, because my DH was against me asking. He even said after we left it was not worth the extra $200 to try to re-negotiate. That is his opinion, but I am glad I will hold onto more than $200 extra (after taxes and finance charges are factored in). I do not feel guilty for asking either, since most of the other posters still got a better deal than I did.

I live in Chicago and recently ordered a fully loaded M Sport in Carbon Black with black Nevada leather and Fine Line Wave wood trim. My dealer gave $2,100 off the vehicle and 20% off the 310 wheels and Pirelli Pzero RFT Tire combo. The dealer will apply the X3 Difference Event $500 certificate toward the purchase of the 310 wheels/tires. Plus they agreed to swap out the 19” all-season or summer tires that come standard with the M Sport for the Pirelli Sottozero Serie II Winter RFT’s for no additional charge. I’m sure I could have gotten more off but everyone involved at the dealer went above and beyond. I asked multiple questions and sent them on many chases to get me answers and prices. I’ve learned the hard way over the years that pushing too hard for the best price doesn’t payoff in the long run when it comes to follow up.

Hi folks. Similar to Ledzep, we're moving on from our 2006 e90 to a 2011 X3 35 . Where are people getting their invoice prices from for "build your owns"?

My CA said a good estimate of invoice price is 6.5% off MSRP. Following that logic, if my build's MSRP is $52,000 then according to my CA, the invoice is approx. $48,620. Based on earlier posts, it seems anywhere between $500-$1500 above invoice seems reasonable depending on the relationship. BUT, if the estimated invoice is 2% off, say real invoice is 8.5% off MSRP not 6.5%, then that $1500 over invoice may not be as great a deal as one thought.

Cliff notes: What's the best way to find the invoice price on a "build your own"?

Thanks

I am a USAA member. Its car buying service gave me the exact invoice price for the car and each individual option I wanted. The dealer has this information available as well. I am not sure where others got their info. Go to this website. http://usaa2.zag.com/main.html?refer...S_Body_CTA_C40

My MSRP came out to $50,000 and my dealer took off $2,000 and added $2,000 to my trade in. I love them.
