Power tailgate behaviour
Not sure if I'm losing the plot here.
I'm convinced my tailgate used to only close using the button on the boot lid. I remember thinking carly might be an option. My car was in the garage last week for a new steering rack and it appears they've updated the software as there were some settings wiped. However I knocked the door control for the tailgate as it was opening and I can close it from the door, and the remote. Can anyone confirm the remote/door buttons didn't used to control the closing? 2016 plate x3. |

You can code to close the tail gate from Driver door button and Key fob a single press... By default (before coding) for UK, I think from factory it is the following setup:
Driver door button: Only open tailgate Tailgate button: Obviously only close Key Fob: One push open, and only close if button held down until tailgate closed. So sounds like they have changed the code to give full control for both button and key fob.... I thought there was some sort of EU ruling that we are not allowed to close the tailgate from a single press for safety reasons. Maybe Brexit has released that...
