if you bought the tire warranty, you should have pushed for them to replace it, has it is a safety hazard in BMWs books.

I picked up a nail in my LR and was able to have it successfully patched. On the second nail the tire was replaced. I did not buy the dealer tire warranty, I instead went to my local Discount Tire and purchased through them. Much cheaper, and they carry the tires.

I've had to punctures on the tread of the Pirelli Pzeros and both times have had them patched and had no problems with the tires. All you have to do is make sure there is no damage to the wall. I used the tires till there was no treadlife left on them and never had any issues with them.

I had a puncture on a Pirelli RFT about 1/2" from the edge of the tread. My local tire man was willing to attempt a repair, but he said that close to the edge he couldn't do it.
