Shouldn't there be a cubby hole there? My last car had a 'smoker/ loose parking change' pop out drawer. Or is that another option I missed.
I am not sure where you mean?

I mean-- if you run your eyes forward from the gear stick pass the cup holders onto the rubber tray area just past the cup holders (where I put the keys). Between the rubber tray and the short cut keys theres a short area of dash which seems hollow when I tap it. Feels like there should be a pull out draw there.

Does anyone know if BMW retro fit the Digital radio to the X3? I have contacted Synter Cardiff and they haven't got back to me. I know they do a digital radio but need to fit a small areial on the inside of the car. I was wondering if they could slot one on the X3 without the need for this. I have pro sat nav etc, if this make any difference?

Regarding DAB radio, a retrofit may not be as straightforward as you think. AFAIK, the rear quarter window and rear windows contain the antenna(e) for the DAB radio. If they are already present and wired in then it may be do-able. If the wiring loom fitted to your car doesn't allow for this then I suspect you may struggle.

Ages ago I remember a posting or two saying the hardware is there in all cars - unless you pay it's just not turned on. I was annoyed, having paid full price for DAB To think a hack might have got it me for free. Worth a good search. Certainly it is seamlessly integrated into the radio - just some different menu options, nothing visible physically.

Ah I always wondered why some cars had different rear quarter windows. Now I know its for the DAB.

Be interesting to get other's experience with DAB, I didn't get it for our X3 but we have in our Mini and I find myself using the FM equivalent as the reception for DAB is very patchy (and I don't live in the middle of nowhere).

I'm sure its the future but how it stands currently I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money to have it on the X3.

I use DAB all of the time for 5live and TalkSport mainly, but occasionally for other stations that have an FM equivalent. It's near flawless for reception. Have driven from Berkshire to near Fishguard in Pembrokeshire, had it on continually, and I think I lost the signal once

Booked car into service dept as heater not working and ventilation to screen not clearing steam/condensation.They mentioned something about a fix being required by BMW for the DPF, has anybody else come across this?

For those who are interested, I thought I would post some updated stats...

By my estimation there are now about 10,000 new shape UK spec X3s.

The breakdown is approx.

8500 x 20D
1270 x 30D
320 x 35D

There is yet to be an X3 will all the options chosen ... although mine came very close ...

Nice charts Horsey

Interesting that nearly half the sales have pro nav. No wonder they charge so much for it! Also surprised there are more bluewaters than sparkling bronze and how few people upgrade the speakers.

Would be interested in seeing who upgraded alloys and to what on SEs

Anyone else on here order an X3 in the UK in September? I am still 2 weeks from my build week but dealer is saying that they are confident of an early December delivery. I think I will be lucky to get it for Christmas.

Someone asked about a top box and bars. If you want something that is good value and a good size try this combo-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roof-Bars-...&_qi=RTM756412

I received mine last week and all is good apart from a mis-shaped U bolt which I'm chasing up. Not much noise when cruising at 80mph.
All ok for a couple of times a year extra capacity.

Thanks for posting this. I am in the market for a top box as well and this looks very good value

Picture of bars and top box installed (protective film not yet removed from top box!). Tricky to get the bar positions, so I've made some subtle marks on the inside of the rails to assist when I put them back on.

For something that I thought could only ruin the look of the car, it actually looks pretty good - I like it!

I ordered early September and collected the car last week . The car was built after 3 or 4 weeks then it was 4 weeks from when the dealer told me it had left the plant in the U.S to being ready for collection. Hope you get yours soon.

There are also a few companies making fully integrated aftermarket DAB options whereby a small interior aerial is stuck on one of the windscreens and an FM channel is used for all the DAB stations. I think AutoDAB is one of the companies if I recall correctly from BMW Car Magazine. Price as about £399 fitted.

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/accessori...312___,00.html

It's not clear whether this applies to the F25
