Should i buy x3 petrol or diesel?

Im probably going to buy a x3 for my next car. I live in europe and my budget is 6k-8k, in my country there is a tax on cars with diesel engine so thats going to add price too. Please can someone tell me some problems of the x3 and is my budget enough? Thanks!
