Safety first!
If you lay down in the back with your head against liftgate you can hear the exhaust really well too.

Hahahahahahahahha...that's another step you can add to your list. Maybe amend that you leave liftgate open while driving?

PS..you should try this step and see if it works...

Step 1...tape a hose end to tailpipe.

Step 2...tape other end of hose to driver's side window.

Step 3...disregard step 2 and 3 from OP's first post.

Step 4... enjoy glorious exhaust sound next to your ears.

If I fold in my side view mirrors will I hear the engine better, I feel like those could be blocking some of the noise?

Why would they lock the thread? Everyone is just expressing their opinion and there hasn't been a personal attack.

If someone attacked the level of someone's level of common sense that's one thing, it's an open public forum.

Someone posted that you shouldn't read the post that will bother you....lmao. how does one do that? I wish there was a button to push to remove the post before you can read it.

Hopefully this post will serve this community by showing that before you post something, take 2 mins and reread what you typed and see if it makes sense and trumps the need to just post something.

If you do post it and get some backlash/approval, it is what is since you hit "yes" button to post. Man up and move on.

I think it's the headrests. Yes, it's definitely the headrests that are key here. If you remove those at the same time as lowering the back seats, all that noise will resonate directly into your auditory canals.

For bonus points, if you've lowered the windows to let more noise in from the outside (seriously, I had no idea that's how windows worked), then you can discard the headrests through the open windows.

Better, louder exhaust sound for whom? Driver? Neighbors? People who live along well traveled roads? I think it sounds just fine in stock form. I like to listen to tunes when I'm in the car. Not a fan of loud cars, bikes, trucks either. We already have too much noise in the world. And before you knock me by saying, your choice/right but don't rain on my parade, let me remind you that your rights stop when they infringe on others. Whatever.

The posts have titles. Can easily figure out what to expect based on those; fairly obvious what's introductory and what's technical. Also there's already a button to mark the forum as read without actually reading every thread.

All the posts asking if it's possible to retrofit complicated factory options are completely ridiculous yet people don't feel the need to go into those threads and make a big deal out of it. Is it telling that this has more than 10x as many replies as most people on here asking for help with problems?

Hmm... are the front headrests even removable? Might want to double check that.

Sure if the title had read "common sense may be in question" or " I like to see my post count go higher", I would have skipped it. But your right it wasn't technical and just an observation on your part. So maybe the title saying" I think my exhaust gets louder when I open my windows" would have been better for people to judge if they wanted to read it or get a laugh.

Hey everyone likes to slow down and watch a car burn down on the road. Its human nature to watch something destroy itself and get excited to see the outcome.

PS.. you do realize that most of the 10x replies have been mocking you? But I get it, sometimes its hot outside and the need to remove your rubber helmet is a necessity. GL and be safe bud.

Sorry, didn't realize this was a problem. Will watch out in the future. It doesn't even display that info on mobile so I don't know who would even think about this.

Woah, what a troubling thought. I hope that's from Thomas Harris and not an original. That's generally not why people slow down for an obvious road hazard but I guess different people get "excited" by different things.

Please give me the username of the person you were replying to and joking around with when you joined the thread. I take this mockery very seriously and have strong words for them.

Hey bud, yeah I love you too. I'm excited to help and nurture you on your findings and to share it on the forum for others to bask in your awe. You seem to have the ability to deduct aspects that others don't, but I think you may need to focus on one new thing at a time, sometimes a soft rubber helmet can get in the way.

So yeah it be best for you to fixate on one thing and express each separately from all your "fact findings" in a way for all to understand your thought process, hence giving it a proper title for each post.

In the meantime I'll make a list of the people who you say I was "replying to" ( maybe you meant to say referring) you at a later date so you can formulate a strong comeback to discourage them from interjecting themselves in your upcoming posts.

Man I'm so happy to help you flourish and help prevent a trainwreck for others to spectate and "not get excited".

PS.. your the best.

NOOOO. Do you realize mental illnesses are among the most common health conditions in the United States. More than 50% will be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime. 1 in 5 Americans will experience a mental illness in a given year.

We need to embrace OP, at first I thought he was just a troll. Look at his post, took time to type in bold each point he wanted to make. Took his time to be precise in his explanation, yes some points are ridiculous ie. rolling windows down or folding seats....whatever. There was a post from some chap in UK saying not to read the post or respond if it didn't align with your way of thinking. That's wrong this is clearly a cry for help and needs attention.

PLEASE, PLEASE POST THIS THREAD EVERYWHERE. People need to know how serious this type of condition is. For gods sake, get OP a banana.

I about had one when my nephew tried to get into my X3 with a Route 44 from Sonic. I shouted, "be gone with you. No syrupy soda in this car!"
