Kamikaze Pheasant

The glass in my offside door wing mirror was smashed by a kamikaze pheasant this evening.

Luckily I think that was all that was damaged, although there might be some marks on the door from the flailing mirror/glass after the bird had smashed it out of the housing.

I'm sure the replacement mirror/glass, which is heated and auto dimming, will be reassuring expensive to replace!

That's terrible news. A friend of mine accidentally damaged his passenger side wing mirrors on his Mercedes CL. The repair bill was £800.

It's the first time I learnt that power folding, heated and auto dimming wing mirrors are expensive to repair. Thankfully I fold mine in whenever I lock the car.

Luckily, it just looks like that it's just the glass that has been broken on the door wing mirror.

With discount, it is going to cost me the princely sum of £93 to replace.

Could have been a lot worse had the whole of the mirror unit needed replacing, being of a motorised, heated and auto dimming type.

Have you checked eBay out, as I'm sure I've seen them on there in the past for a lot less.

Not sure if you not liable to prosecution for starting before 12 August?

Had a look on eBay, but they were mostly heated only, where the heating and auto dimming were few and far between.

There were a pair of used ones that were over £100 inc p&p, so I bit the bullet and bought one from the local dealer, whom happen to be a forum sponsor so I got discount.
