Leather Seat Mark

I plan to mention this to the dealers on my next visit, but I wondered whether anyone here has seen something similar.

On the passenger seat a faint line has appeared (I don't recall seeing it before) and I wonder whether it's come from the heating element when the heated seats are on. I plan to switch the heated seat on and leave it for a bit to see whether it gets any worse, but I was interested to know whether anyone else has had this?

In the photo you can just about make out the vertical line (difficult to pic up in the photo).

It does in the photo, but if you feel it you can actually feel a raised bump. Hence why I wonder whether one of the heating elements is pushing up and therefore causing a mark to appear over time.
I have searched on the web and read a couple of stories about issues with BMW heated seats.

It looks like a natural scare from the leather there's marks on the under side of most leathers sometimes one of them shows thru ,if it wasn't scratched by someone that's what you most likely have it wouldn't be your heating element they are a smooth pad with element in it. That shouldn't cause the leather to not hold up under normal wear.

Thanks that does make sense, it could well have been there when we purchased it, as it was a used vehicle with low mileage (BMW owned), but I've recently paid more attention to it, which I guess makes it ten times worse than it actually is at present. I will keep an eye on it and see whether it gets any worse over time, otherwise I hope it is what you say, just a natural mark in the leather.

Cheers

looks like a natural leather scar, it's normal and a proof of real leather.
