Cargo Net

Can the cargo net be ordered as an after production item, or do you have to order it with the car?

Garage List
It is included in one of the packages (either engine/trim), I think Convenience Package, but you can order one from the accessories catalog or online, etc.

I have the same question as the OP: Can you buy it as an accessory if you did not order the option? Meaning: Are all X3 headliners ready to accept the connection points of the cargo net. Or, are the headliner features unique?

There is a cargo net that comes with the Storage Package but there is also 2 different cargo nets that can be ordered as accessories. I have the Storage Package net and it works quite well. I was planning on ordering the accessory net - which I had for my 335i Convertible - but I saw it at the Driving Event and couldn't figure out how it could be effective. Check out the accessories on the BMW website.

There are two different things being discussed here, I think. One is the cargo divider that extends up to the ceiling and the othervis a net that attaches parallel to the cargo floor to secure groceries and the like.

The first requires lash points in the ceiling, is integrated with the cargo cover, and comes with the storage package. I don't know if all X3s come with the ceiling lash points. If they do, may be able to buy it later, but I bet it'll be expensive.

The second also comes with the storage package but us intended to work with he rail system. You can buy it later, but you'll need rails to use it. There might be another net option, though.

The second

Looks like only two roof linnings available, one for moonroof and one for without. The cargo net divider can be bought after as an accessory. Should fit all X3 's.

I would use this as a cabin divider when traveling with my dogs with the back seats down.

The one that extends up to the ceiling is what I was asking about. More specifically I’d like to know if the mounting points in the ceiling are standard on all F-25’s. Fortunately it wasn’t too late to change my order, so I now have the car on order with this option.

I believe the mounting points are standard but you'd need someone who did not order this package to verify. Hate to admit it but I never really noticed the mounting points because they're covered. When I realized that the divider net also went up to the ceiling of the car is when I discovered the mounting points...then I realized you could do the same with the seats down. The divider then slides into the back of the seats when they are laid flat and the net goes up to mounting points directly behind the front seats.

So there's two mounting points on the ceiling? One pair fore and the other pair aft?

Yes, There are holes in the celing right above the 2nd row of seat and another set right behind the front seats. This allows you to partition either everything behind the front seats or just the space behind the 2nd row.

Just build an X3 with the convienece package (in the US) and do a 360* view. You will see the mounting points.

Sorry, getting a bit confused here. Is the floor to ceiling "cargo divider" net included in the Premium Package/storage package or just the Convenience Package? Nahoa stated the storage package, but I don't see it listed.

convenience package includes the floor to ceiling cargo net. This is for the US.

I would recommend going to www.bmwusa.com and you can see exactly what is included in the various US model X3 packages along with pictures and costs.

It gets confusing because each country bundles their options differently.

Ok, I'm now referring to the lashing points in the ceiling for the cargo net (integrated into the cargo cover):

I just purchased a cargo cover with the integrated net only to realize that my X3 F25 does not have the lashing points in the middle (b pillar area) and back (c pillar area). I am interested in retrofitting the rear portion only but could not find any pictures as reference. I have a picture but I believe it is for the middle b pillar area. See attached

Can anyone with the REAR lashing points provide me please with pictures and possible measurements where I would do some cutting?

Thanks
