I'm in the same boat ! Very interested to hear what are peoples thoughts.

I believe the Sat Nav on the LCI is different as it have touchpad.
Ofcourse body kit looks different already and much more aggressive.

I heard that the new M-sport steering is also change to the current Gen Sleek looking M-sport steering like the other Fseries in the 3 series

It looks like BMW held that goodie back from the LCI M Sport X3, I don't know why, X5 gets it, as well as the 320i sport, but not X3? Why not BMW?!?!

In UK, only the Sat Nav Pro gets the new Idrive Touch. The Business Sat Nav is the same Idrive as pre-LCI.

Wish LCI X3 gotten the new M-Sport Steering wheel but it didn't.
Only reason I'm looking at the 2015 is because of the diesel & those beautiful 20's wheel, but I'm might opt for a 13'-14 fully loaded for less than 45k out the door.
Anyone feeling the same ?

i had thought about similar situation too being 2014 cheaper OTD then 2015 BUT with the new look, the newer one is much better. i can wait another year when 2016 comes out for same situation.

I have a 2012 MSport with DHP and my parents just received their 2015 X3, which I've had the chance to drive a couple times now. They also had a 2014 X3 (pre-LCI) as well, which I've driven many times.

I am very impressed with the LCI updates - most notably, the ride feels better now - not sure if the suspension was updated but it really does feel improved - feels well damped, comfortable, and confidence inspiring. My MSport (okay it's on 19s) feels a bit harsh in comparison in Sport and Sport+, and less damped in Normal mode. I'm a bit jealous of the interior updates as well, like the newer iDrive and the climate controls. The LCI also got the foot (kick) controlled rear liftgate. I really wish I had that on mine.

previous ride was 2012 28 x3 6cyl ride was very comfortable with 17s stock wheels.

my fiancee 2014 28i felt better in every way handling, speed pickup and it came with 18s stock wheels.

Currently I have 2015 Msport which tops over 2012 and 2014, but i guess its not fair comparison since its an msport which is built differently i suppose.

interior is slightly different, unlock n lock feature is by the door. Ac control and idrive display is slightly different. bluetooth has been update for audio n media

I think that it would be a great choice if you'd go for the LCI with Adaptive LEDs and M Sport in Black (Interior and Exterior) and Surround Cameras, Rear Sunshades are a MUST!

I've had a 2015 x28 (non-DHP) for a couple of weeks now, but my only pre-2015 experience was a couple of quick test drives on freeway and city streets (no backroads). They didn't feel any different to me.

I'm coming from a WRX and am suffering a little bit from "I wish I had DHP" syndrome. I didn't know about it when I bought the car (had no plans to buy a BMW, test drove on a whim). Actually I had no issues with the handling until I found out I could have had more It's actually pretty fun in sport mode when the steering damping kicks in, but I'll probably upgrade to progressive springs and stiffer dampers at some point. It would be nice if BMW made the euro sports suspension available as an after purchase upgrade. Anyone tried buying the OEM sports suspension parts and swapping?

*side note - the best suspension I felt out of everything I test drove was the Tiguan R-Line. Unfortunately it didn't have enough passing power.

According to BMW's press release, the steering and suspension was tuned in the LCI:

"Technical highlights include the eight-speed sport automatic transmission, sport steering and suspension settings tuned to deliver even sharper dynamic performance."

Just a brand new tires or different brand of tires alone make a quite big difference.

Yes. But from the info The X Men provided above from the press release, we know the transmission, suspension and steering were tuned for the LCI so it's more than just tires. The difference is noticeable and BMW did a great job improving the driving characteristics.

I came from a 2011 F25 35i SAP (loaded including DHP) with 19" staggered 309s on the run flat performance Continentals that were offered at the time. That X3 was amazing, especially since I had just got out of a 2001 LR D2. M-Sport was not available at the time so it was pretty much the performance leader in it's class at the time.

Compared to that, my current 2015 F25 35i M-Sport (loaded including DHP) is a huge upgrade in every aspect from interior finish to overall driving experience and performance. I am currently running with the 20" staggered 310Ms on Pirelli P-Zero run flats. I can say without a doubt that the ride is smoother, more composed, more nimble and more powerful than my previous 2011 F25 was... in any mode.

With that said, I thinks it's safe to say that the difference between (IMO and excluding looks of course) a 2014 pre-LCI and a 2015 LCI is marginal to slightly better to the latter simply because the line has been slowly evolving ever since 2011. The next big evolutionary change will be the release of the new G0x platform in 2017...which will be fun to compare to a 2011 F25.
