Is the front windshield tinted from the factory at the top?

Hey Guys, I had my front windshield replaced in my 2011 X3 last week due to a rock chip. My dealer assured me that they do them ALL the time and it would be good as factory. "M3s, etc. we do them all the time." Well the side trim on each side is sticking up and looks terrible. I'll have to bring it in. One thing I couldn't remember was if there was a tint. For some reason I thought there was.

My '11 35i does NOT have tint at the top of the windshield. There is a narrow band of dots around the top and sides, but no tint. F25s with HUD have a different windshield, and I can't speak to those.

Certainly in the UK a graduated tinted windscreen is an option and not fitted as standard

If/when looking for a replacement screen it would pay to ensure the company either sourced the correct OEM screen as a lot tend to use non OEM screens

If you put your vin into BMWvin it will te you if yours had a tinted screen from the factory or not

If they garage has fitted one without and you had one with .. Then I'd be asking for a correct one to be fitted
