Issues With Car at Delivery

X3 M sport package.

Scratch on inside of windshield.
Touch up paint on ridge of hood. (by the windshield wipers)
Subtle dent in driver side passenger door.
Storage tie downs on channel on passenger side do not slide.
Car pulls to right and needs alignment.
Overspray on bottom door seals on both the passenger and driver side.

After such a long wait I'm bummed.

Car is at dealer to be remedied. (hopefully)

I wouldn't have accepted delivery of it and would ask for a new order to be put in! My dealer left off the premium sound on my order by mistake and when it was delivered it didn't have it. I complained and they re-ordered me another 35i. While I'm now waiting for it to be produced, they let me keep the one that came in as a loaner until my new one arrives. For as much as you are paying for the vehicle, it should be PERFECT from the start!

Is it too late for them to order a new one and fix the situation? That just plain sucks!

Touch up paint and overspray on door seal? Don't the panels get sprayed before the seals are added? I would push for a replacement. Some of this sounds a bit suspect

I thought the paint on the door seal may have been from the x body panels.

Don't accept...

It may be too late by the sounds of it, but normally when you are finding those type of issues, esecially the paint on the seals...that means it was a cover up for some sort of damage. So there could be more damage done than you realize. I agree with others, with this type of vehicle and the money invested, I would have not accepted it. I feel for you, that would blow after months of anticipation. Sorry!

If the dealership doesn't address it, call BMW NA. If they don't address it, call a lawyer.

It is really surprised, it is new BMW, but it is unacceptable. Asking dealer if there is any other better choice, reorder looks will take long time to get it, refund or complain to BMWNA, but thing is that we want this car, I can know your feeling, it is so embarrassed. so for the other people who ordered the car and haven't got it, before we take it, we should check it carefully and be better to take another test drive IMO.

Take it back, show them everything and demand a new order be placed. Tell them you want to keep the one you have as a loaner and will not be making any payments until you have the new one. Hold your ground!

I didn't finance mine through BMW either. Doesn't matter! I called PenFed who I did finance it through, explained the situation and it wasn't a problem.

I would try ddemsey. If they did a shoddy job on the things you can see, who know what else that you can't? You don't want to uncover the worms in the years to come and have it be a continuing headache throughout. You need peace of mind.

You wouldn't normally inspect the door seals prior to taking delivery. Over-spray is a pretty solid indication that the car was damaged and repaired, and you are bringing it to their attention immediately after determining the car is defective/damanged on delivery. Either a serious $$$ reduction(refund) or a new one.

That is quite a disturbing list. There is NO WAY that BMW shipped that vehicle in that condition. Sounds like maybe the carrier tried to cover up some damages, or even the dealership. I would contact the GM of the dealer, and BMW NA immediately!!

Update: Exchanging phone calls with BMW NA. Car currently at dealership. They can't seem to be able to fix the alignment problem. I think it's time to replace the car.

Update:

Car at dealer waiting for a front spindle which is backordered. I am also working with BMWNA. They are looking into what they can do. In the meantime I have a new 335 diesel as a loaner.
