Thanks for the heads up. I have a reminder to call BMW to check stock as my Conti summers need to be replaced and they didn't have any in Dec. May wait a while if we might get more snow and ice *

* i say "more". That could be a third day of UK use in 4 months

I too heard about the risk of more snow! Will probably wait a few weeks before switching back. Nothing to lose really as the winter tyres still handle very well on these cold and wet days.

Weather's warming here too... low of -8 and high of +6 C forecasted for this week.

I usually wait until third week of April before switching rubber.

Not yet.

We had a blizzard today. And -20 Celsius during nights.

A picture from "Autobahn" today near Helsinki

That car probably is fitted with all season tyres.

Well, how it turned out to be?

Welcome to the first day of Spring! March could be the coldest for 50 years and winter is expected to stay for yet another week

Snow set to fall across North and Scotland as Britain's cold snap continues

The dailymail like to exaggerate stories about the weather. No snow at all here since the 3 days in Jan (which will likely be the sum total for the whole of 2013)

Would have driven down there in my winter shoes if I'd have known!

Officially we're now a couple of days into spring but wait, what's this ...

heavy snow forecast at 8am, winter tyres are still on and maybe a last chance for some action this winter

The curse of having two sets of tires (Winter + Summer) vs. All ("No") Seasons. When to do the two swaps. I'd rather be caught in an early or late Winter storm with All Seasons than Summer tires. I'd also rather not keep Winter tires on too long as they get chewed up fast in warm weather and dry roads. I've gone both routes but ultimately prefer the All Seasons but, as always,... "YMMV".
