Polishing a leased car
Is polishing a leased car worth it? You may have seen my last post about the dealer scratching and swirling my hood and now I want to correct it because its too late to complain at this point. Does anyone recommend any machine polishers and any polish?

I would take it to a professional detailer and have it done.

Why not? Even though it's a leased car, you still want to keep it looking sharping when you drive it around. I say bring it to a reputable detailer in your area.

the question is are you that guy that polishes and waxes your car several times a year?
if so then invest in a Dual Action (DA) polisher. there are several really good units available, I bought one from the folks at Groit's Garage. you could invest $200-$300 in all the supplies you'd need to keep your paint clean. now correcting imperfections in the paint requires a few more "tools" (pads and compounds) above and beyond polishes and waxes. that could be $80-$100. there are tons of videos on you tube and the like explaining how to do the work you want done to your car. you could pay someone or own the tools for a few dollars more and take care of the paint on your vehicles any time you wish. |

I had my leased X3 OptiCoated due to the least amount of headaches. I don't expect to have to wax it for the remainder of the lease, though I am thinking of buying it out at the end of the term.
