I use it all the time, I can see navigation directions and speed info and my speed. It keeps me from looking at the navigation screen or the Speedo so I can look out for the cops and I can also see my cruise control information. I coded so that I can see my indicator lights and I am going to get it coded soon so that I can see infotainment info on the HUD

I wanted the HUD, but it was incompatible with the thermal glass windscreen that I wanted more... oh well, perhaps next one :-)
The new (MY2014) HUD is colour, and comes witn a much nice dash display too...

I love it. The speed is nice to see but the navigation instructions are the best. The X3 is my 4th BMW with it.

I am extremely satisfied with Heads Up, I admit it is one of the "must have's". Very practical, stood right out during my first test drive.
Believe it is one of the newer car technology that will stay and be appreciated when it comes resale time. Together with option 8TH Speed Limit Info it is fantastic, reads passing-forbid sign too! Surely there will be better versions with full color in the future, but it's quite capable already. Will like to know how to code to get indicator light signal integrated. Hope that helps. |

The HUD and speed warning definitely keep me in check. Then again this is my first SUV and I find it so comfortable that I rarely speed unlike when I used to have my 135i (both had N55 motor).

I like it. Scared the sh1t out of me though when the road hazard popped up for the first time lol. The speed warning coming up is cool too. Not much different than w/o it but it's nice to see. If they had a tach on there it would be more useful though.
