oil level
I was driving today and everything was going fine. I whipped my X3 around a corner pretty sharply and immediately got an oil level warning. The system chimed up that I was at the low oil level and should immediately add one quart. I stopped the car, let it sit for a minute and restarted it. I then checked the level and it indicated about a third way up between low and max oil levels. THis oil level is exactly where it was after my last oil change. After the restart, the oil warning went away and has not reappeared. I suspect I sloshed the oil in the engine when taking the sharp turn. Does this sound reasonable and has it happened to anyone else?

Your X3 does not have a dry sump oil system, so your theory is quite possible. If it bothers you that much, add a half of quart to the engine and that should fix the problem.
