2005 X3 Wheel Airbag Interchangeable?

Hey guys I have a 05' X3 2.5i and the BMW logo on the steering wheel airbag has been cut off. Its a plain airbag no buttons attached to the side of it. Does anyone know if I can use an airbag from a 3 series or another other series or does it have to be an X3 airbag? Picture for reference:
