Strange icon on Nav Screen
Saw this for the first time yesterday. Anyone know what it is or what it means?

It looks like your X3 is communicating with the Mothership. You didn't put 87 octane fuel in it did you? Just kidding.
According to the manual, the meaning of that icon is "Request of the current vehicle position*." That's on Page 23 of the 2011 manual. I don't have the 2012 manual on this PC, but it should be within a page or two. |

that's kinda scary--who (other than me with my useless BMW remote app) would be requesting my vehicle's position?

The text isn't very informative. The only possibilities that come to mind are BMW Assist and BMW Teleservice. Are you getting close to a Service interval? My dealership called me to schedule an appointment when I was within 4000 - 5000 miles of a CBS-recommended oil change.

Nope. I just rolled 1100 miles on the odometer.
