Rear hatch fit issue

I have a 2012 X3 with the Msport package I noticed today with the rear hatch closed the gap between the rear bumper and the door are not constant across the width of the car. On the passenger side I can fit a finger tip and working my way over to the drivers side I cannot. It is very visible that there is less gap on the drivers side can someone take a look and see what their X3 looks like.

Took a closer look it is the bumber lifting up I am concerned it will scratch against the hatch. Calling the dealer tomorrow they installed the hitch I am not sure if they screwed up the bumber or not.

Check to see if the bumper cover is level.

Having watched the production video showing robots and lasers installing the "hang on' parts I can only assume it is the bumper cover that is fubar'd. ... especially if you had a hitch installed.

Thinking of installing the hitch also at a local dealer. How do you like yours? The bumper issue apart, do you think it is worth it. I need it to carry bikes around...

I like the hitch a lot, you really don't even notice it on the car.
