Radiator Fan troubleshooting help

Re: my 2015 X3 28D. Anyone have any experience troubleshooting the Rad (Aux) Fan on this model? My fan is no longer operating so I swapped it out. Unfortunately, the new one didnt run either so I'm at a loss to figure out the next step in troubleshooting. There must be a sensor that commands it to run but I dont see anything and (of course) do not have a tech manual. Its manageable due to the cool winter temps but it'll have to be repaired before summer! Thanks for any help.
