Your destination is on (left or right)

Hi folks,

I just got a used 2014 BMW X3 in U.S. Everything is good so far except the navigation.

It doesn't tell me whether the destination is on the left or right until I arrive at the destination. With that said, if I guess wrong, I need to make U turn. Is there any setting to adjust or the system is just so stupid? How can you guys live with it and not to use your phone instead?

Thanks

I think that the nav does show which side the destination is on. I'm basing this on my 2016 X3 and I'm doing it from memory. But I think it puts a "tick mark" on the vertical bar indicating the side of the street the destination is on. Something like my crude drawing below. Tick on the right; destination on the right. And it has a checkered flag next to the tick mark (not shown in my drawing).

I feel the same way on my 14 x3. It doesn't show which side it's on. I'm guessing for the 16model they finally corrected it. Annoying yes but I just slow down until I can see the destination. Just remind yourself of the good old days where there was no navigation and how it took you hours to find any location lol.

LOL - remember the days of having to pull over and pull out a streetmap of some description :-)

Now I take the middle lane. Watch out all the traffic. When I hear left or right, I make super sharp turn. I cannot do this on other cars. It requires very good handling. Very exciting. Very cool. Very...........suck...
