Today my Wife's X3 illuminated an alert triangle for the Electronic Damping Control (EDC.) Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what was the remedy? Thanks.

The remedy is to take it to the dealer. It's under warranty, make it their problem.

If you/your wife didn't accidentally enable Sport + or hit the DTC button, there is something wrong and take it in, and the issue is not anything I have seen discussed on these boards before.

I do not understand how TPM could be related to EDC? Why was the wheel sensor changed? Did you have multiple issues? Is your dealer clueless now?

Seeking advice...I imagined that once the code flashed the BMW techs would be able to easily fix this issue. I would think that this is not the first time that this has happened to any of the '13 X3 35i's w/ DHP and Dynamic Dampers...anyone else gone through this?

Had the same problem with my M3. It was a loose connectors but they replaced the whole connector unit.

Don't forget there are many sensors at each wheel other than just the TPM. Things like wheel speed sensor, ABS sensor, and in their case, probably a suspension sensor seeing that this vehicle has EDC.

Assuming they replaced an EDC sensor with no positive results, maybe there is a failure in the actual strut component. That would be the next down stream point of failure I would think.

Back in today with same EDC alert issue and now the TPM alerted yesterday. Service tech unable to determine anything different than first time in. Had to get loaner since original tech not working today and BMW corporate not available today (Sat.) to evaluate. Hoping that this is resolved soon after at least returning five times for a vehicle for months old...

The problem appears to have narrowed down to a common connector for TPM and EDC and if TPM message is indicating wheel position too, it would be further close. It appears to be a connector issue. Let's wait for dealers findings.

After two days, BMW Engineering suggested switching left and right front wheel vertical acceleration sensors to further isolate alert cause. We picked up vehicle after not allowing Sevice Mgr. to drive our vehicle to his home and back to see if sensor faults again. If replacement part is needed it may have to come from Germany. So far so good...

Well at least the BMW engineers are offering suggestions. Hopefully the switch will make it clear where the failure is. Keep us posted!
